CONCEPT

THE HUSTLE BUS
A MOBILE OFFICE SOLUTION

This project was completed as a conceptual business idea. It demonstrates the design of a temporary office-on-wheels that can be rented for those who need additional workspaces for a period of time, providing flexibility for the fast-evolving work environment of today.

RENDERINGS

The renderings provide a 3D demonstration of how the project looks and feels. Both the interior and exterior spaces were important to model, as this compact office-on-wheels uses every inch of space given. These images provide visuals on some of the materials selected, millwork, and volume of the space.
Floorplan

FLOORPLAN

The most important consideration for this project was flexibility. Because the floor space is only 147 sq.ft., it was essential to provide various function areas that can be used in different ways. The conference table is on a pulley system to raise it up to the ceilings when not in use, and the stools can be stored under workstations to maximize floor space if needed. The kitchenette offers a space for workers to have their lunches, make coffee, or get a snack. The small office located in the back offers an acoustic and physically separated zone for focus work. An armchair in here can be used for phone calls or reading.

REFLECTED CEILING PLAN

The reflected ceiling plan demonstrates the location of lighting which ranges from general pot lights to decorative and task sconces. The A/C wall mount unit was an important consideration of this compact design, and is located at the front of the bus. Shelving for plants, kitchen items, and books are also shown here.
Kitchen Millwork

KITCHEN MILLWORK

The small kitchenette focuses on the essentials for a staff kitchenette and includes a mini fridge, sink, and microwave drawer. Additional storage space was added by placing a shelf across the window muntin.
